Tips For Preventing Ticks While Hiking

Of course, when it comes to bugs, there are not exactly a lot of them that you would choose to have crawling all over your body - but out of all the bugs out there, ticks are among the worst! After all, not only do ticks crawl on your body - they also try to make your body their new home! They live off of your blood, and they can be nearly impossible to get rid of once they have made a home! After all, the only way to kill a tick is to burn them or drown them, and even if you pluck them off you, they will continue to harm you. Because of all these things, the best way to keep ticks from making your body their home is to keep them off your body altogether.

Of course, if you are not the outdoorsy type - and if you do not have pets - you should not have much to worry about when it comes to ticks. If you enjoy hiking and camping, however, it can be more difficult to keep ticks off you; here are a few tips to keep in mind.

Firstly, you need to know that the two places where you are most likely to get ticks from is from trees and tall grass. Although you can hardly avoid trees if you are hiking or camping, you can cut in half the chances of tick exposure by avoiding jaunts through tall grass.

Wearing pants and long sleeves is also important, and even though you might think this will make you too hot in the summer, there are actually plenty of "performance apparel" items in which you can still stay cool. At worst, you should wear pants, as this will at least keep the lower half of your body protected.

There are also bug sprays, such as Sawyer Maxi Deet Insect Repellent, that repel ticks in addition to mosquitos, gnats, chiggers, and fleas. By spraying this onto any of your exposed skin before you go into the great outdoors, you will be in much better shape.

Of course, you should still give your body a thorough check when you get home - even if you have taken these measures; but you should be fine, as long as you have followed these tips.

Two studies have shown that the green coffee bean extract found in some Hydroxycut products promotes weight loss. Svetol, the green coffee extract used in Hydroxycut products, is found in Hydroxycut Hardcore, Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite, and Hydroxycut Acai.In a study funded by Iovate in 2010, 45 participants took Svetol while 45 got a placebo. All 90 participants ate a reduced-calorie diet and performed moderate exercise over the eight weeks. The result: Those who took Svetol lost an average of 3.7 pounds, compared to 1.25 pounds for those who got a placebo, according to the company.
